Our history

2024 Start-up of 2 new duty stations (112 Mechelen 3 & PIT HH Leuven). Framework agreement with City of Antwerp for assistance at various events for 3 years. Contract and partnership with KV Mechelen for preventive assistance. And renewal of Beerschot Football Club contract.
2023 Confirmation of long-term cooperation with Mutas. Start-up AZ Alma, first aid post Ineos and moto transport for samples. Takeover of part of DTM’s activities (steel transport).
2022 Reconfirmation of long-term cooperation between Ziekenhuis Oost Limburg and circuit Spa Francorchamps. Start-up of 112 & NDZ Malle.
2021 Roll-out of new dispatching software for Non-Emergency Medical Transport, which means ART again has state-of-the-art systems for monitoring transports. Start-up of HAWP Pageni, Voorkempen and cooperation with Bobbejaanland medical post.
2020 During the COVID-19 pandemic, Ambuce played a crucial role in providing medical transport services, with an increase in the number of calls and transports. ART also stood in for Covid screenings at high-risk locations, such as Brussels Airport.

The legal name of Falck Benelux NV will change to Ambuce Rescue Team NV. The logo and VAT number remain unchanged.

2019 September: Complete renewal of fleet of 112 vehicles.
November: The group behind Jan Christiaen acquires all shares.

Launch 112 stand site Liedekerke. Start of long-term cooperation with Bobbejaanland and Circuit Spa-Francorchamps.

In 2018, we had the start-up of the 112 pitch in Liedekerke. That year also started the long-term cooperation with Bobbejaanland and Circuit Spa-Francorchamps. That still holds up today.

2015 90 new vehicles enter our fleet.
2014 July: The group behind Jan Christiaen again acquires the majority of shares.
August: Acquisition of ASAP & AMBU90 from Brussels.
Start of several Home Physician Watch posts across Belgium.
2011 Falck becomes majority shareholder, thereby acquiring leadership.

January: Agreement with the AZ Nikolaas Hospital in Sint Niklaas for a ‘100’ department.

June: Agreement with AZ Diest Hospital in Diest for a ‘100’ ward and urgent and non-urgent patient transport.

July: Huisartenswachtpost Noord is launched. We provide logistical support for home visits.

2010 Start-up of transport for the first GP outpost. In Limburg, we start our 5th independent ‘100’ ward in Peer.
2009 Launch of Falck Academy. Cooperation agreement with Eurocross now Mutas.
2008 Cooperation agreement with ‘Europa Hospitals’ in Brussels. We provide them not only with all their non-urgent patient transport but also with MUG logistics. So since then we have also been active in the Brabant region. We were then trusted by Chirec Hospitals, the University Hospital of Brussels and Tubize Hospital.

Taking over ambulance service Triac

2007

Ambulance service Triac is taken over by Falck Ambuce. As a result, the East and West Flanders region will also be served by our services for urgent and non-urgent transport. We are starting a shuttle service for the Intercampus transport of both Sint Maarten hospitals in Mechelen.

2006 Ambuce enters into joint venture with Falck(Denmark).
2004 The city of Mechelen entrusts us with all its urgent patient transport.
2003 Agreement with the Sint Vincentius Hospital in Antwerp for a ‘100’ ward. Ambuce moves to Bijkhoevelaan 8 in Wijnegem, and is inaugurated by the Governor.
2002 De Voorzorg Antwerp entrusts us with all non-urgent patient transport: approx. 85,000 rides/year.
2001 Cooperation agreement with the ZNA Middelheim hospital and the Algemeen Paola Kinderziekenhuis, for a ‘100’ department, which will be further expanded later in the year to include urgent, non-urgent and neonatal transport… Thanks to the smooth cooperation with the Middelheim hospital and the Algemeen Paola Kinderziekenhuis, there will be a further expansion with the Hoge Beuken campus merger. Our 4th independent ‘100’ ward is Kapellen.

St. Jozef Hospital in Mechelen merged with the St. Norbertus hospital campus Duffel. Resulting in a ‘100’ ward for us, urgent and non-urgent transport, for what is now called St. Martin hospital campus Duffel.

2000 Cooperation agreement with Ziekenhuis Oost Limburg Campus St. Jan in Genk to organise the entire package of patient transport.

Doctor Jan Christiaen takes over Ambuce lets it expand further. Exclusivity contract for urgent and non-urgent patient transport for the entire Antwerp district of the Social Mutualities, which will represent about 50000 assignments on an annual basis.

1996 Cooperation agreement with St Augustinus in Wilrijk and St Camillus hospital.
1993 Due to the smooth cooperation with the ZNA Hospital Campus Sint Elisabeth (General Centre Hospital Campus St. Elisabeth) in Antwerp, we start an agreement on an identical basis with the Jan Palfijn Hospital in Merksem for a ‘100’ ward and the Stuivenberg Hospital in Antwerp for a ‘100’ ward.

1978 Second independent ‘100’ ward in Wilrijk (later Hoboken).
1976 Cooperation agreement with Monica Hospital(Onze Lieve Vrouw Middelares Hospital) in Deurne for a ‘100’ ward but also for urgent and non-urgent patient transport.
1975 Ambuce was founded. Also the first independent ‘100’ ward was established namely ward Wijnegem(Turnhoutsebaan 90).
